TV and film

Storyliner, story editor, story producer, script editor, scriptwriter, Andrew's worked in television on development and broadcast projects. With credits for companies such as Granada Television, Yorkshire Television, Zenith, Thames-Talkback, HTV and Producktion Blau, Andrew's learned story telling, television production and scriptwriting from the ground up.



Andrew has worked on this long running show on two occasions.

The first time as a storyliner working on stories such as Biff and Tara's steamy relationship and the ongoing Tate feud (including storylining an episode that saw Kim and Zoe Tate mud wrestling on Frank Tate's grave).

He returned five years later as a script editor as the show went to six episodes a week.

Story Producer/Senior Storyliner/Storyliner, Thames Television. March 2002 - November 2002. Responsible for generating and developing storylines then evolving these stories into episode scene-by-scene breakdowns. Ensuring story continuity, structure, development and quality. Generating new characters and character biographies.

Byker Grove

Two and a half happy years in Newcastle based at the Mitre (the building you see onscreen as the Grove) writing stories, developing characters and script editing on this flagship BBC show.

Moving on from Newcastle he went on to write scripts for later series.

The Prince of Rags and Patches

Feature length adaptation of the Terry Deary Novel for Marsden Productions. Commissioned by Terry Deary to adapt the first of the Tudor Terrors series into a TV feature format for interested television parties. Produced a treatment and script. The project is now in development with HTV.

Andrew wrote two episodes of this UK/Canadian co-production.

Berlin FM :

Storylining and development for a new German soap opera for Pro 7 in conjunction with Produktion Blau and Granada Television. March-May 1997.


The Morning After (Adapted for television) :

Produced for Cable 7 in October 1995 and broadcast in early 1996.


Goldilocks - The Trial (Television) :

Produced for Cable 7 in 1995 and broadcast in June of that year.

Andy's sitcom Gothic Gardens was workshopped with Carla Lane as part of Zenith's Masterclass series.

Andy holds an MA in Television and Radio Scriptwriting.

Film. With three film credits (on films that have been produced) Andy has also worked as a script reader, consultant and script editor for various film companies and film development agencies.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva :

Script rewrite and polish for full length animated film. June-July 2010.

The Haven :

TV feature for Screen Partners shot on DV in October 2001. Cast included Nick Rowe, Alexander Siddig and Cecile Thomsen. Directed by Ray Kilby. Commissioned to develop the story and the script from an initial premise from the producer. Delivered a final script, undertook edits with the director and onset dialogue changes during the shooting of the film.
